Doesn't seem like that because of social media, but that is good to see

"The cancer death rate in the United States has dropped by 25 percent since its 1991 peak, resulting in 2 million fewer cancer deaths than if the rate had stayed the same, the American Cancer Society said Thursday in a new report."

Its not the cancer rate, but the rate people die from cancer. And it is because medical science is way further along than it was 25 years ago.

America has higher cancer survival rate than almost every other country.

In the UK, only like 68% of women with breast cancer survive while here it is north of 77%.

This. We are calling more things cancer, and we are catching cancers earlier, which makes it seem like people are living longer with cancer.

Treatments are certainly better, as well, but the numbers are a bit inflated. We have a LONG way to go.

But but but Obama care is terrible! Trump needs to renegotiate it and make it great!

This is because we have more specialized treatment for specific cancers, we detect it earlier, and also because we have extended the lives of those who STILL HAVE cancer.

ETA:

The numbers aren't as good as the OP numbers suggest, but they are better.

Which is what the article attributes the majority of the decrease to.

I can't believe about 20% of people still smoke. Poor people are doing work to inflate that number.

And the WHO ranks UK's healthcare system above that of the US, despite the better level of care we receive in the states. Of course, the WHO, like the Democrats, believe that Healthcare should be rated based on how much is provided by the government, and not on how effective the healthcare services are.

They developed a pill for the type of cancer I have. 10k a month but overwhelming success so far. But I think it's only been on the market two years. My doc still uses chemo for patients healthy enough to handle it.
