I think you can if you have residency in two states.

I had 3 at one point:

Louisiana, Alabama, and North Carolina, all valid.

Now I just have Bama and NC, but my Bama one expires this month :(

NC lasts through 2020 tho

Legally no.

I couldn't get a simple ID in Oregon unless I gave up my LA drivers license.

I had to surrender my La license when I got my Tx one. This was in October.

Like let's say you're in Texas and you get pulled over and the Texas license is clean, but you're in a vehicle w/ LA plates. Would it show up that you ( I mean my friend) had a LA license?

Alabama took my LA license and punched like 50 holes through it and gave it back to me. But that was a duplicate license because I had lost my license but then found it later, so I still had an LA license. Then when I moved to NC, they didnt ask to take either one.

Just don't have both on you at the same time.
There are certain laws you need an ID for that state to partake in, and if you travel a lot it shouldn't be an issue

You most certainly can, I had a Mississippi and Louisiana up until a few years ago. I just let the Mississippi expire since I had no real need for it
