No, the DHS doesn't except that license as valid.

Yeah, you can use your LA drivers license until October 10, 2016.

this is probably a really dumb question but I haven't kept up with this whole thing.

I know that LA was going to require a passport for air travel, is that correct? If not, then just ignore my next question. How does it work for people from out of state flying into LA? Like let's say I wanted to go visit NO for a weekend, when I try to depart back to GA will I be able to without having a passport?

It doesn't matter where you're going.

If you have a GA license, you're fine.

The LA license isn't up to the federal requirements, so people who only have a LA license will need a passport to fly, anywhere, starting October 10, 2016. Unless the state makes new licenses that meet the requirements before then.

Of course. It was a great stupidity litmus test to see who was freaking out about the notion that you possibly were not going to be able to do so.

Yes. This is mass hysteria and confusion started by Democrats.

An id is not required to get through tsa checkpoints. If you tell the tsa guys you do not have an id, you will be escorted out of line and they will ask you basic questions about yourself and then you will be allowed to enter the terminals. This takes an additional 10 mins or so, but the bottom line is id's are not required to fly.

After October 2016 you will need additional ID until Louisiana complies with the Federal Enhanced ID requirements. If the State fails to comply by October then yes the drivers license will not be sufficient but you don't need a passport you just need a second form of identification. The easiest being a passport so that's why everyone keeps saying it

I know you can't add additional visa pages to your passport anymore after January 1st. If you run out of pages you have to get a new passport now.

Nope. Have to have a 2nd govt issued ID.
Passport or TWIC both work.
