Entergy should have been released from requiring permits to restore power. They should be using their discretion with their customers.

Welcome to government redtape 101. You will be waiting 2-3 weeks for that permit BAW.

Never heard of this. You need a permit to connect utilities now?

Pretty standard after things like floods and fires. There's a danger of causing a fire due to electrical shorts if damaged electrical systems are connected to the grid, so many places make you get a safety inspection and a permit to reconnect. It's similar to the permit required to connect a house for the first time. The house is assumed to be unsafe until inspected/approved and deemed safe.

That's pretty funny. When I got to my parents house Monday morning there was still 3 feet of water in the yard. Their water fountain in the back was still going plugged into an outlet completely submerged. I also found a blower in the garage that had been underwater for almost 2 days and running the entire time.

So much for that whole safe/unsafe thing.

You did write fountain. I'm imagining the pool.

It's all good... enough whiskey and I'd swim in a fountain.

Oh, I thought the OP meant in general. Not in times of flood or fire.
