Looking to rent a cabin, preferably in the mountains, but I'm not familiar with the area. Any suggestions?

tons of cabins in North Arkansas near Mountain Home.
that area is between Bull Shoals lake and Lake Norfork.
there is also great trout fishing on the White River.

Anything close to the Buffalo River will be nice. I really like Elk Meadows cabin.

Mount Magazine is gorgeous. We hiked and camped there for a weekend. They have lodges and all that good stuff.

I stayed at this site about 5 miles West of Eureka Springs last month.
Great price, highly recommended. Easily accessible to lots.
Lake Leatherwood, town of Eureka Springs, hiking trails, Razorback Tower, Thorncrown Chapel all within earshot.

We stayed at Azalea Falls Lodge a few years ago, near Buffalo River area. The lodge is big enough for a family reunion, but cheap enough that we got it for just two people. They have a smaller cabin and a B&B building, but I haven't stayed in those.
It's out on the woods, with a mile or so hiking trail right there. Run by a kind of hippie couple who live on the grounds. The guy is a major hiker and can tell you all about the area trails.

Mount Magazine cabins are also nice. Lots of good and relatively easy trails in the area.

We used to go to Hot Springs when I was a kid. It was ok.

We stayed in the Ozark Mountains close to Mena and had a great time. If your coming from La, it's a closer drive than northern Ark

Petit Jean State Park. Wife and I stayed there once. Was nice while it lasted. She got sick and we cut it short after only one night there.
