You're a Saints fan and haven't heard the name Buddy Ryan?

How many assistant coaches get carried off the field after a Superbowl?

Meh. It's Buddy Ryan. I'll allow it.

That 1993 Houston Oilers team was rolling on an 11 game winning streak when Ryan took a swing at Gilbride. The internal turmoil basically derailed their postseason.

Ryan was, no doubt, a great defensive guy but he definitely had a problem keeping his emotions in check.

Was up late one night and I watched a documentary on the 85 Bears and they did a piece on what his players thought of him. He sent a letter to them all when he was diagnosed maybe, and Mike Singletary read it on the show and it made him cry. Those guys loved Buddy.

Most of that Bears defense saw Buddy as the obvious choice for head coach when Ditka was brought in. They essentially rallied around him and insulated themselves from the rest of the team.

That 86' Bears team was basically two separate teams, which is why Buddy was carried off the field by the defense after the Super Bowl.

Never been a big NFL fan inside of the Saints, either, apparently. You know that Ryan guy that ran your defense for several years?

I'm sure they've mentioned his dad, legendary NFL coach and defensive coordinator, Buddy Ryan once or twice during a Saints broadcast.
