That day display is a little too busy for my tastes. If you're going for a pilot/flieger, I'd personally go for something more traditional, but it's all taste.

Otherwise, it's a quartz movement, as will be anything in that price range.

43mm can be big. Not a fan of the polished case or a quartz pilot, but overall it's not horrible. $60 is cheap.

Do you have a phone that tells the time?

Are you sure you can read it without all the numbers displayed?

I'm not a watch guru, but I don't like that one too much. I think it's maybe the band that doesn't do it for me...the face isn't too bad (just a little busy/big for my taste).

Too much going on for me. Prefer something simpler

Fine watch if you're looking to wear it out at a bar or a club

These are bargain pilot watches with style and solid movements.

1) Does it tell time?
2) Do you like it?

Men's watches should be of submariner style, NO date, automatic movement, sapphire crystal, with stainless bracelet or nato strap only.

That's a tongue and cheek statement so all you DateJust and Daytona owners out there don't freak out and have an aneurysm.

I like the coloring and "theme" (I have a vintage Omega Speedmaster with a brown strap and black dial) but the dial on this watch too busy. What's the most you want to spend? Hamilton has a decent Aviation line, but most are in the low $1000-$2000 range.

Not terrible. Change the strap immediately to something from Crown & Buckle.

If I was going for an entry aviation piece, I'd definitely jump on Laco as previously suggested. Can't really beat ETA/Sellita/Miyota movements for those prices.

This one is similar with a more reasonable dial. They actually have a decent line-up of Quartz watches in the $500 range (and you can typically talk a dealer down 20% or more). LINK

I'm not normally into busy watches, but I kind of like the style of this one. The company had some issues with quality control years ago but have recently acknowledges their problems and have supposedly fixed a lot of their problems, most of which were with their automatic watches.

I basically look at watches in one of two ways, a buy for quality or a buy for design. This would be a design buy so if you like the way it looks, go for it! While the name is Swiss they do not sell "swiss watches". They use parts and movements from China so you aren't necessarily getting the watch quality you'd expect from a swiss watch maker but for a sub $100 watch, if you like the look, I say go for it.

Sorry to Hijack the thread, but does anyone have experience with Squale watches? I'm really interested in the 1545 model. Seems like a solid watch for $500.

Don't spend $500 on a fake Submariner. For $200 you can get an automatic Seiko that has its own look. Or any other dive watch in that price range.
