Bringing a Date to a Wedding

I'm going to a wedding out of state (7+ hours away) and my friend wants to hook me up with a date. I told him I really didn't want to be obligated to babysit some chick the whole time and I'd rather spit game at girls at the wedding. Additionally, I'd have to listen to her for talk on the way there and back. Is it wrong for me to suggest them drive separately or fly out there and we pick them up? And what if I don't get at least a HJ, he says we're guaranteed that since we are paying for the hotel!

Why would you want to bring a random girl to a presumably semi-intimate event?
Does your entire family think you're gay or something?

Yeah, blind date for a wedding is a train wreck waiting to happen. But, I think the idea that women go to a wedding solo and ready to frick is a bit overblown. Almost every chick worth her salt has already has a date.
