re: Bring in Professional Big Cat Trainers

Yeah I always felt bad for him. He clearly doesn't look happy. I would imagine all the noise, the tight space and the constant pounding on top of the trailer from the cheerleaders would be stressful for an animal like that.

Yup. They claim they don't drug him, but I remember once him sitting in his cage looking all doped-up with a huge string of drool hanging out of his mouth.

We should make Mike jump through hoops and do long division.

Now that would be a half time show.

So sick of the Vet School's song and dance about not making Mikebdo things he doesn't want to do.

Too bad, they are responsible for his humane care and you are not.

They would be insulted to be called animal trainers.

We could put mascot mike in the cage..win/win

If the real tiger is in the cage he should do tricks. Or give rides for 10$.

All we need is for him to walk into a trailer.

All YOU need to do is walk over to his enclosure and watch him there

I used to take the same angle, and then one of the higher ups from the vet school put me in my place on here. I knew she was legit because she gave her name and campus phone number, in case I wanted to talk to her about it. She said they don't drug him.

I think they should hook Mike to 2 poles like the Colorado buffalo and run him out before the team. May or may not freak out the band though.

He would be a lot happier if they put this on his cage.

re: Bring in Professional Big Cat Trainers
My favorite part of the previous Mike being loaded into the cage was when he would turn around and spray a bunch of the people who were crowding up close to him. Suddenly the front row standing room was a little less appealing and a little more fragrant.

Mike doesn't know how good he has it; call up the second team from Gross Tete. Let them compete for the job...

He needs to get in that trailer 7 times a year. Is there "Hey, its Mike, and I'm not getting in my trailer" Twitter account yet?

What they need: A big laser pointer. If he's anything like a cat, he'll move.

I remember that thread! I took away a lot of good info from it. One of the interesting things was the life span of the tigers at LSU compared to other places (esp. in the wild).

Regarding us getting Roscoe/Mike VI, IIRC there was a thread on here talking about how that place in Indiana where he came from might shut down for financial reasons. I even think some people form there or associated with it came on here soliciting for funds.
