Looking for a brick mason to give an estimate on building brick steps for my home. 5' high X 8' wide.

just DIY. only tools you really need are trowel and a wheelborrow to mix the concrete.

If you want to cut on cost get used bricks.

Except people pay double for used antique brick. It costs more to have people take the mortar of and ship them around then it does to make new ones.
