I agree that designating an entire month for breast cancer is overkill. However, you can't fault donors or charitable organizations if the donations for breast cancer are greater than other illnesses. Face it, breast cancer is more marketable than other cancers. Save the colon doesn't sound as marketable as Save the Ta-tas. Plus, you have a lot more high profile advocates for breast cancer. I can't fault the organizations for being more aggressive in pulling in financial support.

You're complaining about funding cancer research?
He's complaining about all the attention breast cancer gets compared to other diseases that kill more people. It's gotten ridiculous the amount of pink crap sold every October to make people think they are really helping out....when they are just playing into that companies great strategy to sell more stuff...that is pink for a month.
Like someone else said.....Susan B Komen is the last place you should donate your money to.

Breast cancer deaths are highly preventable by early detection. One of the most preventable forms, and easiest to detect. It's about awareness for women to go get tested frequently
heart disease is also easily prevented, and affects a much larger segment of the population.

The next time someone from the Susan G. Sure, the liver or prostate isn't nearly as sexy to talk about but those who suffer need our support, too.
Give money to gynecological cancer research!!!!

I love this stupid fcking thread every year at this time.
The pink in NFL games triggers the rednecks as well and we usually here from them.
Go start your own charity cause and pimp the frick out of it so yours can be better

Has it ever occurred to you that the reason it doesn't kill as many people is BECAUSE there is a great fundraising effort?
1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Tell me how many people will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer.

If ants were the size of cats, we'd be all dead.

Not really. IIRC, large insects require extreme amounts of oxygen, which is why they thrived in the...well, whatever era giant forests damn near covered the land. What makes ants terrifying is their numbers, and if they were the size of cats, limits on resources would make them inefficient and cause them to die out from lack of sustanence.

I love people who complain about threads being repetitive by posting in said thread and giving their also repetitive opinion. Also like when people feel better about cursing by misspelling the word, like that makes it's use better or more civilized

It's not the pink, it's the fact that Kommen PAYS the NFL for this, in turn the NFL markets merchandise that is sold with funds going back to Kommen. Of all this money changing hands, you are the one giving and they are the ones spending, though only 20% goes to the actual cause of the charity. That's why I and many others are upset.

Plan to, though I would never pimp a charity, I find this getting rich off of charity crap to be morally wrong.
Easier for a camel to walk through the eye of a needle.......

My mother died of breast cancer. You can't fund the research too much, as far as I'm concerned. Absolutely, let's fund research for other diseases better, but if this is about you being tired of seeing pink, GFY.
