Cortana Mall gets my vote.

ETA: From one family man to another, please don't go to Cortana Mall.

Zoo is fine, maybe not "world class" like some people want, but plenty to entertain a 3 y.o.

Bluebonnet Swamp & nature center is a nice easy walk and there are critters to be seen in the swamp & in the building. Is your wife pregnant or do you have a baby also? Not sure how stroller friendly it is...I think it's doable, but you may want to call & check.

What is this?

We are taking our little man to the basketball game at 4, but I was in the same boat as you on Thursday, just wanted to get out of the house and didn't really have anything to do.

A friend recently told me about becoming a member of the Audubon family in New Orleans. It's like $160 for the family for the year and you can visit the Aquarium, Zoo, and Insectarium as many times as you want for a year, visit three times and it pays for itself.

There's a parade around mid March. DO NOT bring your children to this.

Look up at what Dorothy said. That's the place she described

Lol, yeah I saw that after I posted.

I Googled it, I drive by there every single day and didn't have a clue that it was there. I think we will add it to our family to do list.

City park
I was scared of it until I went

Open play at a jumpy
Quarters during the day
Forest park
Bowling is cheap as shite early Sunday mornings at dc (they have bumpers and rollers for little ones)
Downtown scientists museum/that big dome thing
The first movies at the grand are 6$ a ticket
The nature center is stroller friendly. Call ahead and ask when they feed the snakes.

It may be trashy by OT standards, but my 2.5 year old just had a blast at Forest Park.

Sometimes the simple things are fun too.
