Boy Scouts to sell Girl Scout cookies too?

The Boy Scouts of America has moved one step closer to ending its ban on gay adults as leaders.
The organization's executive committee adopted a resolution last week that would change policy.
"This resolution will allow chartered organizations to select adult leaders without regard to sexual orientation, continuing Scouting's longstanding policy of chartered organizations selecting their leaders," the Boy Scouts said in a statement Monday.

"This change allows Scouting's members and parents to select local units, chartered to organizations with similar beliefs, that best meet the needs of their families. This change would also respect the right of religious chartered organizations to continue to choose adult leaders whose beliefs are consistent with their own," it read.
The national executive board is expected to meet to ratify the resolution on July 27.

having been through the scouts with my first son, i cant tell you how excited i am to think about gay leaders out in the woods while we're camping and sharing the outdoor showers.

can we petition to have men leaders share facilities on girl scout overnight trips?

whats the difference with gay men running around the showers on overnight trips who are attracted to males?

you do realize most eagle scouts earn their badges at 16 or 17 right?
someone posts a pic of a hot female 19yo SI model and a hot 17yo instagram photo i doubt we'd see a whole lot of OTers going 'not attracted to #2, just #1'
you want to tell me at 15 or 16 or 17 years old a gay scout leader showering with these kids wouldn't find them attractive?

If I was a gay guy I would want no part of it, unless I had a kid who was in the group. No matter what you do, you can't entirely eliminate the prospect of some parent or kid making an accusation that is incredibly stigmatizing even if baseless.
It sucks, but that's how it is. I'd also prefer not to host a sleepover for my non-existent daughter and her little girl friends without my non-existent wife there. The world is just too fricked up, appearance of impropriety and what not.
