May be heading to that part of the world next year. What is the earliest time to go when it is not fricking freezing and gray and gloomy?

Also: Train to Manhattan from Boston, good idea?

Maybe side trip to New Haven: Frank Pepe's or Modern Apizza?

stop being called? May? It depends on what you deem come

the average I think is 76 or so this time of the year and 28 in winter

but you have to remember just now terrible this past year was, this was taken the first week of March

and stayed that way for about two month's

the cold is not the problem except on your wallet for the electric /firewood bill, the snow however can beat your arse

The hamburger is alleged to have been invented in New Haven... Look up "Louie's Lunch"... It's pretty legit.

Fantastic, but all pizza in the NE is pretty killer because of the water.

I have a client who makes/distributes pizza dough, a few years ago he was going to move his company to Fla because in MA you get raped on taxes. He gets to Fla and his dough isn't the same, something was wrong. He finally figured out it was the water, but it cost him $$$ to figure it out.

Yup the water is SOOOOO Much better up north and in the northwest..... Overall Boston can be pretty cool.... Red Sox and Patriots.. The state is really small though.... Winters are rough but the spring and summer and fall are great............

I'm a big fan of Amtrak, especially for long night when you can sleep all the way home.

The last two winters in the NE have been brutal. Still had snow on the ground in mid March. Didn't really get stretches of nice spring weather until about a month later.

The autumn up here is great. Hell, even around the holidays is not bad, but it is cold. However, January through early April can go get fricked.

It's always crowded as frick and no seating... Well, there's like 2 small tables inside but they're overrun by "to-go" patrons.

And don't be surprised that they don't take any special orders or value customer service.

Think Judice Inn in terms of condiment options.

I live in Portland part time and love it, Peej

no way I could handle boston traffic, I have friends that work in the city that leave for work a little bit before 5 and usually get to the office around 8

It's seems anything after Jan 20th now is terrible and before that, a few snow showers here and there but that's it.

Amtrak cost way too much money. Do the megabus or a Chinatown bus
