I've used Owens before but hear good things about Cavins. Not major damage, but it's a new Tacoma and other party was at fault. What's your experience with any of these body shops?

You may have to wait for an appointment but I have always been happy with Chris at Medine's.

Owens tends to get in pissing contests with insurers and, in yhe past, have put a lien on people's cars if they feel they have not been paid what they should. Don't know whether they still do that.

I will absolutely vouch for this.

If you only have the two options, Cavins

No but hell no to the blues brothers ! Cavins does a good job for a body shop ! Very few do a good job "under the hood" I'm saying very few hide or die a good enough job to "hide" the fact your car was in a minor fender bender. Much less a close to total. I'm saying this as a 23 year master auto guy . Not banging but Flo or whoever don't care as long as it is straight on the "outside"

Don't go to Owens. Mutha is shady.

Kinda what I've heard. The dude Mike that writes up the estimates rubs me the wrong way. I'm ready to try someone new. I'm more concerned about quality of paint job.

Cavin's is the best in BR. I have brought multiple vehicles there. Their painter is one of the best I have ever seen

Avoid Owens at all cost. I have a friend who is in the middle of a lawsuit against them right now.

This. Cavin's almost cost me my engine in my previous vehicle.

To their credit, they were very responsive and accommodating to ensuring that my vehicle ran properly having it independently tested twice at the location of my choice.

+1 for avoiding Owen's. I personally witnessed them remove a bumper from a car AFTER the owner called and said she didn't want them to do the work. BRPD had her car towed there, Monday morning she called and arranged for it to go somewhere else. They tried to charge her labor and wouldn't release it.

Avoid Owens at all costs. Place sucks so hard. Super sketchy. When my car was totaled they assumed I would just let them keep it and they started repairing it to resell. I sold the title to the dealership and told them what was going on. They didn't seem surprised.

Also went there for an estimate on another car and the old guy came out with a bunch of articles and immediately started bad-mouthing competition and insurance companies before he even looked at the car. I told him never mind, took it to cavins instead.

Cavins does great work and refuses to use aftermarket parts.
