Well, there are a dozen or so in NOLA. Maybe that news hasn't reached Iowa.

The only way he would insure they won't be in LA is to add them to his personal staff

No refugees at all? Or just Syrian refugees?

Well he issued an executive order this morning. I understand that 14 were already here.

Syrian, which now that you ask that, is concerning. Aren't we settling up screening stations in Iraq and Lebanon too?

My point is this overreaction is ridiculous and only uses public hysteria and fear to create a police state which restricts freedom.

If we're going to refuse refugees, why not the Belgians and French? Their own nationals perpetrated that attack too.

Whether you support relocation or not go read the order it has no teeth and doesn't "prevent" anything. He is grandstanding.

I've seen madrassas up close and personal. I'm very biased.

He is using a law that says the governor can issue executive orders to protect the public in "times
Of emergency". Problem is there is no official emergency. This will be shot down.

not to mention, it's pretty easy to travel to other states.

it's political posturing, nothing more

Exactly, and it's insulting that it actually works.

These overreactions are exactly what ISIS wants. It's the entire strategy behind the terrorist attacks. Erode democracy and the west's culture of freedom from within by getting them to engage in a mass hysteria, while simultaneously getting yourselves thousands of more recruits when people inevitably overreact and try and exact "revenge" on perfectly innocent Muslims.

ETA: Also yeah, Bobby is an idiot and his order means nothing. The sad thing is some people will actually support him and think he's doing the Lord's work
