Blue Bell announced it has found more signs of Listeria at some production facilities.

The ice cream maker released a statement on Thursday saying it had 'identified locations where suspected Listeria species may be present in our facility,' although it doesn't clarify which locations are involved.

Blue Bell added it continues to sanitize the affected areas and no batches of ice cream have tested positive for Listeria.

Time to go fill the deep freezer before they disappear off shelves again.

ETA: And this also seems much to do about nothing if you actually read what they say:
quote:

We are pleased that our enhanced environmental and product testing procedures are working. We have identified locations where suspected Listeria species may be present in our facility, and we continue to extensively clean and sanitize those areas and make additional enhancements to the facility and our procedures based on the environmental test results. To confirm that our robust environmental program is effective, and that our "seek and destroy" goals are being achieved, we expect to periodically find microbiological indications in our facilities. Since our plants reopened, we have tested and will continue to test every batch of ice cream produced, and no products produced have tested positive for Listeria.

But I'm guessing that won't stop people from going OMG Bluebell is going to kill more people.

Who cares? They should just put a warning label on it. People will eat it anyway. Can't be any worse than cigarettes.

Wow. Lots of folks going to lose their jobs because I don't see how they can survive another outbreak.

Would really love to know the whole story. Where is it coming from? Is it a procedure problem? Angry employee? Competitor? Lazy employee? Bad supplier? Angry supplier? Something? Plain bad luck and they built the damn thing on a portal to hell?
