Anyone know a good spot outside of the base? I heard parking was a nightmare today there so I'm trying to avoid that tomorrow.

They do most of their tight maneuvers over the base so you can't really see much from around the area.

Hmm. Ok good tip. I've never seen the blue angels, so maybe we will just brave the traffic early morning.

It's worth it at least once in your life. They're that good. You can always just hang out a little bit afterwards and watch the aircraft's take off to head over to wherever they're performing next.

I was in a wedding at Our Lady of Prepetual Help right off the base and we could see everything. I am assuming there is no bad spot to watch it

We used to watch them on levee by the baseball fields in Belle Chasse. It seemed that they would fly along the river for their approach the base. Very close, very low, very awesome.

You might try parking along Engineers Rd, but it's not like being at the airfield. It is pretty cool to see the soloists making some of their turns.

Engineers Rd,

You might be able to see some good stuff from there, and there will be plenty of empty parking lots since most of those businesses will be closed. I didn't get to see much from my house, but seeing them flying over in formation was still pretty cool.
