Joe Rogan Podcast

Great podcast by the way, its about 2 hours 30 min long, the first 45 min is pretty weak but from there on its great.

Anyway at 1:08 he says what would happen if you went into a black hole. I'll go with his theory

The only thing that takes longer than reading the article is explaining why you didn't read the article.

Act like somebody with 18,000+ posts, man!

The observed facts back up theoretical predictions very well, it isn't merely guesswork

I didn't say it is guesswork. But the whole point of theories is that they are not facts.

It's highly likely that nobody will ever know exactly what a black hole is or what lies in the center of one.

225 what? Pounds or solar systems? Doing reps only makes it stronger.

A theory is a proposed and tested explanation of an observed fact.

And that's fine, but as reliable as scientific theories are, they are not facts...only explanation of observed facts (as you say).

I'm simply saying that when it comes to what a black hole is exactly at its center, there are no proven facts.

According to all known and accepted laws of physics, nothing can ever exceed the speed of light.
Isn't that actually a theory? And hasn't been able to be reproduced on an atomic level?

Really, you can subtract 100,000,000 mph from that time, because it was hand-timed.

We need a science board. I love reading astronomical threads, but would love to do so without the trolling.

Of course it isn't merely guesswork, but you mistakenly include the word "facts" in your argument

No, I correctly included that word. "Facts" refers to observation and measurement that does not contradict the prediction of theory.

If you hadn't noticed before, notice now - I did not say theory was confirmed to be correct. I merely noted that the observed facts don't contradict it. And we do have lots of observations, more than enough to have reason to think we're onto something.

That's because black holes and sucking so hard that not even light can escape aren't interesting to wives. This is girlfriend material. Wives don't have to work that hard.
