Of course it isn't merely guesswork, but you mistakenly include the word "facts" in your argument, because theories (in context) are based on the laws of logic, and are merely educated and diligently thought-out attempts to explain nature and the universe, based upon observations
. When a theory is supported by enough undisputable facts, it ceases to be a theory. Even the strongest theories, by their nature, are either unconfirmed, or as in this case, as of yet unconfirmable, in spite of overwhelming evidence
