It seems that every business in downtown just closed or is closing soon in advance of demonstration planned for 5:00. Not sure what to expect on the ride home when I leave about 6:00.

Heard they were handing out bullet proof vests to the white people. You got yours right?

They should go ahead and move the SEC offices to Tuscaloosa, just to be safe.

Big gun show planned this weekend at the BJCC. My guess is that sales will be brisk.

Government offices will close for any reason.

You think after what happened yesterday in downtown Dallas that downtown Birmingham companies won't close two hours early on a Friday in the week of the 4th of July for something like this? Yeah the company doesn't just stop working.. they have corporate offices in other places in Birmingham. Doesn't/wouldn't surprise me if this is true.

I'm hoping whatever they're doing will stay contained to Linn Park... I live on 3rd Avenue and really don't need them marching down my street.

Most of Birmingham's finest are brothas, so we should be safe.

I understand the volitility of the environment, but what good would it be just letting everyone go home, unless a direct threat has been made?
