No - it isn't.

But it is better than no gun at all - that, I'll grant you.

Good shite

ETA:

44 magnum you're gonna shoot at the guy, blow a hole through the wall, blow your dogs brains out in the other room, then drop the engine out ya car

...then you're deaf from the noise and blind from the muzzle flash and you got a guy with a sickle walking around the bed coming at ya

Bill Burr isn't the best advocate for gun ownership, but at least he's willing to talk about guns and his experiences with them, unlike most other people in entertainment.

Per wiki:
quote:

Burr will star in F Is for Family in December 2015 on Netflix. The show, an animated sitcom, will be based around Burr's standup and the absurdity of political correctness. Burr will write and executive produce the series along with Michael Price

Hell yeah

I don't know about ideal, but this .22 pistol would certainly be a good HD gun:

"you know, it was the 80s"

"you can't just explain anything by saying it was the 80s!"

it was ok, but I've since let Youtube cycle through Bill Burr on Conan videos. Good stuff.

The best was when he absolutely trashed the Philly audience. Epicness.

I saw him do his standup on using the .22 for home defense at the House of Blues opening for Kevin Costner. He literally got booed off the stage by the drunk rednecks in there. During the Costner show I walked outside and he was just hanging out smoking a cig by himself. We ended up talking for a while about breaking bad. Awesome guy.

Remington with varmint shot in an urban/suburban area

In a less densely populated area- a .45.

The better bit was when he was talking about someone coming up to him and asking if he wanted to shoot a .38 at a burned out car.

The Atlanta audience didn't flinch or laugh at the set-up, and he did a smaller mini-bit about how fricking crazy Southerners are for having that reaction.

Talk to any coroner and he will tell you that .22's are deflected by muscle. They don't have enough velocity to cause much damage barring a central nervous system strike. .22 magnum is a different story.

I have, my friend was a pathologist and medical examiner in a large city, in his 40 years of practice the overwhelming majority of gunshot deaths he observed were cause by the .22. In his words it was the most commonly owned caliber so it was used more than other calibers, and while you my not bleed out and die immediately from its wound you will eventually die without medical treatment.
