I may be wrong but I think I remember seeing something about him earning the Navy Cross. Last time I checked they didn't just hand those out right & left. Either way, it's a crying shame that a man who sacrificed so much for his country would end up dying in the manner he did. Whoever killed him, biker or cop, needs to be brought to the fullest extent of justice the law will allow.

Imagine if they had applied the same rules of engagement from Twin Peaks to the riots in Baltimore or Ferguson. The country would have had a melt down.
Good thing the riots weren't in Waco. Not all police are the same.

article here just says Navy commendation medal, didn't elaborate, the two tours were 4-5 years apart, the way the article is written implies that he may have not been active duty all of the time between them

You think the media wouldn't have reigned down on Waco if the police took out a few dozen black rioters?

even the quotes from surviving family members, including the VN vet, are either buried in the article or afforded rebuttal by LE in our local fish wrapper

just now occurred to me, the Marine was from the same small town as a friend of mine's cousin who was also a Marine and was killed in '68, (which was the same time he was in Nam,) posthumously awarded the MoH, wonder if he went back because of that, I've known of a Marine or two that did

Okay, but it was the point of the post you responded to.
To your point, I agree.

Oh yeah, I could see Waco cops opening up on the rioters and causing a national meltdown.
Posted on 5/22/15 at 5:22 pm to PowerTool
But they did open up on rioters, where is the national meltdown.

I wonder if it was the cops or the reporter who chose the word "civilian."
