But, if he had fallen and gotten hurt it would have cost the local taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars in a rescue effort because of his stunt. You risk it, be prepared to suffer the consequences.

If he'd fallen I don't think "hurt" is the description for what would have happened to him.

the videos from that trail are shaky and hard to watch.

If you have to get rescued from the back country like that you do pay the bill. I get S&R insurance with my fishing license each year for $3 just in case.
