But you can change the letter around and the subject as well...

Let's get the OT to work sending pro-Mike e-mails using their technology...

Caring for Cats - Ending The Trade Big Cat Rescue 12802 Easy Street Tampa, FL

quote:

We really need your help with this one. Somewhere in this country a young tiger cub is about to be snatched up by LSU and forced to endure YEARS of what we deem abuse – the unimaginable stress of being carted to football games and kept on the sideline while over 100,000 people scream in the stadium.

These people really need to get their facts straight

I don't see why we can't rescue an adult tiger from a shitty zoo in Mexico or something and at least give him / her a better life for 8 years or so.

I get that taking a baby is politically incorrect and LSU is run by huge pussies, but actively and demonstrably improving the living conditions of a tiger from a crap zoo is easily spun.

Plus LSU needs to get the narrative out about the vet program and how it's amazing experience to get wild life vets trained with a tiger.

If you go to the link, you can edit the Subject and Body. I just changed it all in support of Mike.

As a big cat lover, I am sorry Mike VI has passed away. But this is LSU’s opportunity to honor Mike VI by continuing the tradition of a live tiger mascot at LSU. Our tradition of keeping a live tiger mascot on campus and celebrating him every down, period, and inning brings great awareness to the global plight of the big cat.

There is tremendous educational benefit in keeping a live tiger on campus. In fact, it sends the strong message to your students that LSU believes the natural world is a thing of wonder and should be conserved. Please let there be a Mike VII. No tiger can ever replace Mike VI, but continuing our proud tradition is the ultimate way to honor him. The world is watching and this is LSU’s opportunity to do the right thing.

This may not be popular, but I think the only way the live mascot tradition can continue sustainably is to stop bringing the tiger to the games. If we did force him into the games, the people who yell abuse would have a point. And since we don't, when the tiger doesn't voluntarily get in the trailer, there are too many fans that get mad and run their mouths about how we SHOULD force it, and that's bad for our image too.

If we announced now that we were ending the tradition of bringing Mike to the games, it'd be that much less ammo for the people who oppose getting a mascot, both this time, and in the future (hopefully very far in the future) when we're in this position again.

These people shouldn't be taken seriously until they try and get the tiger from the truck stop.

When they attack LSU, but ignore that poor bastard, it's clear they just want the attention.

Done.

Having a live mascot on campus adds to the mystique and lore of the LSU campus in Baton Rouge.

In all honesty, that tiger is probably better taken care of by LSU than any of those PETA fricks

Of course they don't want LSU to have a Mike VII. They're probably Florida fans.

The "unimaginable stress" is seeing 100,000 people and he can't eat even one.

Wisdom, right here.

These folks and PETA are just outsiders who can't be bothered to actually come down here and either educate themselves or confront their opposition. LSU should feel no pressure from these groups because they aren't actually applying any pressure. They are just firing off press releases and mass e-mails from afar. They have no more credibility than Joe Schmo from Nowheresville, Illinois writing on his Facebook page. They don't like it? Well, SO WHAT?

Seriously, Big Cat Rescue, and PETA... what are you going to do about it? Write more press releases? Send a bunch of meaningless e-mails? Woo... scary. I guess we have to end a 90 year tradition now...
