no one is defending this a-hole.

I personally don't want to fear for my life because cops have an itchy trigger finger though.

nah man, we're just not reactionary simpletons that see something and run out and start tearing shite up and rioting because we think we know what happened.
We usually wait and find out more details then peacefully protest if necessary. We usually don't even do that though.
Take this thread for instance. It seems a guy was shot for no reason. Come to find out, hes a wife beating, child abusing, thug who resisted arrest. No point in burning down the CVS over that now is there?

I don't...but that doesn't mean I will never interact with a cop

you idiots and your black and white approach to the world.

I am not saying we should riot for this guy...IDGAF about him.

That doesn't mean cops shouldn't be held responsible for excessive force.

i agree, but people are rushing to judge in this case. We already know that the guy had a knife, that the cops tried to employ non-lethal take down methods like stun guns, and that he continued to resist. It's not as clear cut as people want to believe. I have been very vocal on this site about cases of cop executions. I'm not convinced this is one.

He didn't need it. The cops put him to sleep with their sidearms.

this is such a bullshite way of framing this issue.

Sure, it may be a small number of the police, meaning a small percentage of the overall number of police out there.

It certainly is not a small number of police involved in incidents like these when removed from the bullshite qualifier of "but think of all the good ones!"

I'm not sure why anyone would ignore concrete evidence and not use it to make assessments going forward, so yes, you probably should.

People rush to judgement so often without knowing what really happened. Yes we would have better cops with better pay, but the truth is only the state police pay really well. In this case, the guy was a POS who looked like was reaching for something. No harm here for me.

So it appears Flores was holding a knife in one of his hands

LINK
quote:

Authorities are examining the footage Thomas took and another video of the incident that has yet to be made public. The police have it and have not released it.

The second video shows Flores holding a knife as he's shot, a source with knowledge of the investigation told CNN on Wednesday. The suspect had both hands up, but he held a knife in one of his hands, according to the source.
