All my golf hats are smelly and sweat stained. I've heard of a tooth brush and dish soap or letting them soak in detergent and warm water.

Anybody have experience with this or a method I haven't heard of?

Dial soap and a toothbrush and hot water works best for me.

I usually fill the sink with warm water, put a splash of Dawn and a splash of white vinegar in and let it soak and then follow up with a toothbrush.

Do you need one of those cases for the dish washer or washer machine?

Also, worried about other hats bleeding onto my white hat so as of now my plan was to do them seperately

Not for the dishwasher. Just put in top rack. If you go the washer route, just wash on delicate and make sure you remove it immediately and re-shape the bill immediately. Don't let it dry first.

If you have access to a pool just dump your white hat in there for a few minutes. If not, same as above, top rack.

To late now but you should spray them down with some scotch guard before you wear them.

I always spray the hat liberally with degreaser then soak in the sink for an hour or so. Then check it and spray and soak it again if needed. Works pretty well.

dishwasher always works great for me. I would not put them in the dryer. I ruined my favorite hat by doing that.

Here is the definitive way I have used many times. Use the bathroom sink doing one hat at a time. Turn the hot water on until it is the hottest. As soon as you put the sink stopper down, have OxiClean ready to gradually add to the water right under the flow of water. Use at least one scoop of OxiClean. Put hat in sink upside down so that water is covering hat. Don't put more water in sink than it takes to cover hat because it dilutes the OxiClean. Let it soak about an hour. Will come out looking brand new!
