Working on my aunt's house and there's a lot of gaps in the corners and a larger gap between two pieces in her sunroom. Caulk, spackle, something else? The largest gap is probably 1/4".

Caulk. Run your finger over to make it smooth. Damp rag to wipe off excess

Thanks. Not sure how they managed to leave that 1/4" gap. Luckily all the mouldings are white so caulk should blend well.

Caulk, because that is exactly what is made for.

And those gaps happen when caulk and trim shrink and expand due to temp and humidity changes over time.

Spackle for the smaller stuff. It paints better and it easier to work with

For spaces between the two pieces of moulding, use caulk

as the others say, caulk will work like a charm...

resist the urge to be a tightwad and go ahead and get a decent caulking gun while at the store, as it will make your life a hell of a lot easier...

this time of year people have been running the heat which takes the humidity out of already drier seasonal air. These combined cause wood to shrink which could likely be the cause. but to answer your question: caulk. Big Stretch is great but not easy to find. Sherwin williams 950a is good stuff.
