Yesterday, I thought he was guilty.
Today, after seeing more video, I think he is not guilty, as we define not guilty in America.

The video is from RT (Russia Today) so it's undoubtedly shopped to make America look bad.

Oh, this analysis is so much better than the dozens of prosecutors, police experts, and officials who probably viewed the footage ad nausem prior to bringing charges.
Case over. Innocent.
If you think about it for a minute, it's not hard to imagine them bringing charges in a reactionary manner given the current environment. DAs are elected officials, after all.

They examine the evidence to determine if there is probable cause to go to trial, not probable cause for a guilty verdict.
Reasonable doubt is a major factor here.

Talk about being thrown under the bus this is it. Every policeman on that force better take notice. We don't need any riots and such.
I'm not a cop defender, but even they are smart enough to stop putting themselves in danger if every single move they make will be second-guessed and prosecuted aggressively.
This situation is not like the Baltimore one where the cops clearly acted out of malice.

So it's okay for a cop to kill a man whose simply trying to get away from him?
Where is this being suggest in the OP? The argument is that the officer was being drug along with the car prior to using deadly force.

When I want news about an incident in America, I usually go to Russian Television, which is controlled by the Kremlin and is nothing more than a propoganda network. RT is so accurate they even knew the Ukrainian election results before they happened.
Give it a rest, Tensing will get his day in court and 90% of OT posters will be watching with an open mind and make their decision based on the evidence at hand. That is how the American justice system works.

From everything I've read, Cincinnati has a super conservative Prosecutor, this isn't a guy playing to the crowd as that crowd wouldn't vote for him anyway-- for that guy come out with a statement as bold as he did, I'm gonna take his word for it on this one.

I was basing my opinion on what I saw tonight on the news. Fwiw, two other cops back his story. They have been placed on paid administrative leave.

Stay away from police. It's the only way to assure they don't shoot you. If they come around, kiss their arse and call them master or sir. If they hit you or threaten you drop to your knees and thank them.

I'm not bashing anybody's individual opinion. Chances are the car rolled forward a couple inches and the inexperienced cop in a "real life" situation panicked and fired accidentally. I'm all for manslaughter in this case.

No, that's cool.
After seeing the other video and hearing the other officers' immediate statements on that video, I am inclined to think Tensing was in immediate fear for his life.

I say this in all the "white cop shoots harmless dindu nuffin black criminal" threads and people often think I'm trying to be funny or outrageous but I'll say it again with 100% sincerity...its going to get to a point, when the situation and circumstances allow it, where a black cop is going to need to be requested whenever it is confirmed that there is a black subject involved. This includes traffic stops, serving warrants, jaywalking tickets, etc....

Tensing is still a stupid son of a bitch.

they are looking for any reason to riot in Cincinnati.

Seems to be a bit of a disconnect at this point after listening to the prosecutor yesterday and then viewing the footage today and seeing that the driver actually started the engine back up and was in the process of trying to just drive off as the officer was attempting to get him out of the car.
People talking about the cop acting stupid, but how stupid was that?
Wouldn't it be reasonable suspicion of a DWI if the driver hands you a bottle of alcohol?
Maybe it's the audio quality, but sounded like the driver was intoxicated.
If the tox report comes back confirming that, who do you think that helps?

I don't have a problem with it, better than a criminal leading the cops on a high speed chase and possibly hurting innocent civilians.
ETA: I have not seen the video so don't know if he was trying to drive away but if he was it's his own fault.
