EZ up or several big arse umbrellas. You have to take cover off and lower frame anytime it is unsupervised or wind gusts/storms will tear it up. Most beaches make you tear it down daily anyway which becomes a huge pain in the arse. We just used 2 big Tommy Bahama umbrellas last year, worked fine for 4 people and 2 y/o

Just make sure you can leave it out all night. That's what the cool kids do. nobody ever messes with those guys because they claim their public spaces early. you will be fine.

Why even go to the beach then? There will be no relaxation.

For actually camping on the beach or just shade? I camped in PCB this spring break and used a Coleman dome tent. Just make sure you get some good stakes, sand is a whore to stake down in.

I love bringing our tents to the beach. I suggest picking up one of these:

Very portable once you get used to handling it, and very comfy. I own two of these.

I use the EZ up canopy. No problem putting up or taking down. The side panel makes it even better for shade.

Here is a useful tip for dealing with all that sand and how it sticks to people. Bring baby powder. When it is time to leave (or to go in the tent), sprinkle baby powder on your feet ( and any place else) and the sand falls right off because there is no longer any moisture for it to stick to. Works like magic.

Pop up tents at he beach are trashy as frick. Get a few beach umbrellas and you're all set. Much easier to get to/from the beach and much easier to set up, move, adjust and you don't look like that one beach trip is your first vacation....like ever.

I've had three of these for probably 10 years and all still work.

Don't use stakes, just take some empty bags and fill them with sand.
I finally found a good use for the trashy 1.75 L Crown Royal bags my roomie had accumulated.
When taking down the canopy, I just empty the bags and stuff them down in the canopy cover.

We bought this one and it was great. You can put it up and take it down in one minute.

If the 5999 tent is unaffordable for an OT baller like you, consider the 10 man size for 3999- room for you, toddler and 8 bikini babes
