If you want leather and the nav package, sure. You can get one well equipped for $25k. And if you can find one, a base model will run you $22k. I guess it depends what the OP wants and needs. My wife's has been a great car.

It was between the Edge and an Escape with more stuff and the Edge won hands down.

Mazda CX5 is nice too. Might be a little over your budget though

Nah - even the grand touring awd package starts under $30k.

3 things she definitely wants - leather (for kids - easier to clean), blue tooth (hands free cell phone) and a back-up camera - so a base package won't do.

I'd take a look at the Hyundai Sonata. It's very reliable and excellent warranty. My friend's SO has one and it was quite roomy on a trip to the beach a few weeks ago. It also has stated above specs.

EDIT: I meant Sante Fe.

I don't think the CRV has a back up camera package

or atleast they didn't 2 years ago

if she thinks the Edge is too big, she will probably prefer the Kia Sportage to the Sorento (it's the smaller SUV from Kia) - starts in the $22k range. Looked at those when I bought my Optima. No need for an SUV though so I went with the sedan.

Nice. I'll definitely keep an eye out for used RDXs. She would love that

Subaru Outback

Plenty of back seat legroom and a lot of cargo space. It actually sits up higher than the Forester, so I like that feature.

Wife has a loaded Buick Encore for a little less than 30. It's very nice on the inside and gets great gas mileage. Just like a 4 door car though.
And it has

I use iihs. It is the link I posted above.

You can plug in your year and model and it will give safety ratings in several different categories. Pilots are better than they used to be, but still get a "Poor" in offset crashes. Pilots were mentioned a few times, not picking on you in particular...

I bought a used Santa Fe last year.

No problems. Enjoy it.

We're done here; this is the answer.

Depending on her definition of 'cute' and 'good ride' you might look at the Crosstrek (smaller) and Outback (just a touch bigger, I think) too, but Subaru is the answer.

Ah well, no arguing with that. Everybody's entitled to their wrong opinion.
