Go to Darrels, just not with kids.

Most places are pretty kid friendly, did you have a certain type you had in mind?

El Tapatio was pretty good when I went there a few years ago. Saw lots of families there.

I was just there last Saturday for a late lunch with my whole family (wife, 7 yr old girl, 12 yr old boy). Sat next to plenty of other families

Unless you do not like for your kids to see people drinking beer ?? its fine for the kids, they even have peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on the menu for the little ones.

there is no reason not to go with a family. At night after around 8 it turns from a restaurant into a bar, but they stop serving food anyways.

Rikenjak's is great for kids, especially if the weather is nice. They have an area w games to keep them occupied, you and the wife can have a beer and relax while they play around.

Only bad thing about Rikenjaks is service can be spotty. Last time I went I saw waiters bring food to the wrong table at least 5 times, we were given chips and dip we didn't order (no biggie because we ate them and I paid for them lol), our waitress was a bit slow, and the food took almost an hour to come out. We had a burger and a seared tuna salad. It's a good concept and nice spot though.

My nephews love Que Pasa. As far as the food, middle of the road tex mex with above average salsa.

They were getting hammered by waitr and couldn't get it figured out that you feed the asses in the seats before the takeout orders. Had several people complain to the owners and they started turning waitr off on the weekends as a result. It had gotten pretty bad, for sure, though. Last time we were there, it was better. I hope that wasn't just a fluke.

Personally, I think they need to ditch the wait-staff and go counter service like The Bulldog in BR. Though I have a feeling something about the zoning where Rikenjaks is prevents them from doing that.
