I bought a fairly high end suit at Dillard's this fall. Had a custom fit done at a good tailor for like $100. As long as I stay in shape, it will look fantastic.
Suits are weird and designed to leave room for alterations. My problem was 46" shoulder for the jacket comes with 42"+ pants. Not 35"-36". Anyway, a skilled tailor got it all right after 2 fittings.

Hell, I bought a beautiful navy Calvin Klein suit at Burlington Coat Factory for $110 last year, spent $40 having it tailored and it looks fantastic.
