Wacthuseek.com is a good forum to look at, and there you can find lightly worn watches for deep discounts. That's where I plan to look for my next watch.

I got mine in the Bahamas while on vacation and saved over a grand. Just gotta make sure it's an authorized tag dealer. I'll try and look for receipt to see if they have a website

I got mine on E-bay from a reputable seller and then immediately took it to a dealer to make sure it was real.

The one I got retails for $1,200 and I think I paid $350.

I didn't navigate the entire site, but any place they had a tab to go to "shop", it brought me to a screen that said url not found.

Is there somewhere else on there where you shop deals? I don't want to read thru the open forum.

That was one I saw with a quick google but not sure if they are legit or not.

Prestigetime.com is where I buy. It is legit, 1-2 day shipping on anything and it's usually about 30-40% off retail.

There's a sell/trade forum where people list their watches

LINK

If nothing else, it will expose you to a ton of watches and give you an idea of what brand/style to look for. I got a Tag a few years ago (wife paid retail, back when we were young and stupid), but in a few years, I'd like to get an omega, and I'll probably buy from a place like this

There is a tag outlet at sawgrass mills in Miami, that's where I got my last watch. They have a mailing list if you email them

I'd go through Jomashop. It's extremely easy to fake Tag with those cheap arse Chinese quartz movements they use.

Why do people spend $100s on a watch?

Why do people spend $100s on anything? You can pretty much get everything you want at the dollar store, so there's no sense in spending any more than you have to on anything.

But things at the dollar store I am sure won't last. Spend $80 on a watch and it will last a long time. I just never understood spending an assload of money for something that just tells time.
