Best noise canceling headphones

Bar down the street has been having live music several days a week and it's driving me nuts. I've bought foam earplugs and white noise machine but it's not enough.
I've heard Bose makes awesome noise cancelling headphones but don't want to buy without reviews.
Anyone have any they can recommend?

Get rid of the foam and use these. They contour to your ear and if done right, you're practically deaf.

Bose makes great stuff but if it ever breaks, good luck getting them to honor warranties. The battery on my Bose mini sound link went out after just a year of ownership. The speaker wont even turn on anymore even when plugged in. Bose told me there was nothing they could do for me when I called them.
I have Bose earbuds and the work great. I've borrowed my friend's noise canceling head phones at the gym once and I couldn't hear anything going on around me. The sound quality was unbelievable. However, I prefer the Bluetooth earbuds because I run a lot.

I have the Bose 35s. They're the best out there. I gotta say though, if it weren't for the Christmas Best Buy gift cards i got, it would've been tough to spend $400 (after tax) for those things. They're comfortable on your ears, noise canceling is very very good, the bass is great too. They could be a little louder and a little more crisp in the highs, but I'm being very critical when I say that. I would still give them a 5/5 and now that I have them, I can tell you that it ended my hunt for headphones. Beats and Sony don't come close. If you spend the $200 on something else, you're going to keep wishing you bought the Bose, so you might as well just bite the bullet and pay the extra.

I love my Bose 35s. They will hurt your wallet but worth every penny for me as I fly a lot for work. If you know someone in the military, they are cheaper and tax free.

Bose QC headphones have the best noise cancelling technology, period. Other NC headphones produce better musical tones, depending on which review you read. But for pure noise cancellation, Bose is it.
As others have stated, prepare your wallet for a thorough flogging, but well worth it IMO.

Say what you will about the fidelity of Bose, but their noise cancelling is great.
Also, try brown or pink noise instead of white noise. The lower frequencies do better at drowning more noise out. The combination of bose noise cancelling headphones and brown noise was my go to at the library. Literally couldn't hear you if you were across the table trying to get my attention.

I was hoping someone had a different answer but sounds like I'll be dropping the $$$ on Bose

If you want to go cheap do what I do on my lawn mower, wear whatever earbuds you have for listening to music, then wear a pair of "shooting" style ear muffs over that. I like Peltor, they have a model that's only 20 bucks.

Just run a small strong fan by your bed, or a humidifier with no water in it is even louder plus doesn't move the air, and you will get enough white noise to block the shite out as long as their isn't a lot of bass. Earplugs and headphones are worthless compared to those. They do sell white noise machines on Amazon but they are worthless compared to a big and cheap humidifier running with no water in it, the key is to get a big and cheap one and nothing expensive if you want it loud.

Sleeping with these in your ears for any extended period is going to cause issues and lead to infections. In fact you will almost certainly get swimmers ear by doing it in La so the box is about as misleading as can be...

Bose is the best. Are they worth it ... meh.
Although I'm always happy I have them when I see a baby near me on a plane.

This won't help you much but one day I was running the lakes and some dude was wearing Bose over ears screaming Last Resort by Papa Roach at a dead sprint
So they must be pretty good

I travel a bunch for work and have custom in-ears that seal out the world, but they're pricey and suck to lose.
Another option from spending a bunch on over-ear things you can't sleep in anyway is to go to Itunes white noise loops. Between a few bucks on different loops and some basic in-ear headphones you'll be golden.
