Dear god. STFU. You come off as the guy who owns a YachtMaster and doesn't even understand its dial.

I'd suggest a Grand Seiko hi-beat or Spring-Drive but you will need to double your budget.

You can get a Sieko that looks nice and will last forever for under $300.

There's nothing wrong with paying thousands of dollars for a watch if you want a status symbol or just a nice piece of jewelry from a classic, well known and revered brand. Rolex, Omega, and the like are all great timepieces. But it's asinine think you HAVE to spend over $1000 for a "quality" watch

I got a Casio with a leather band for $150 ten years ago. Still going strong.

Dumb statement is dumb. I love a nice watch but that is just silly.

My dad has been wearing the same Seiko for 20 years.

Speedmaster would be a good choice. I really want one of the 45th anniversary Apollo 11 editions but I'd probably never buy it.

Not sure if either will appeal to you, but I'll probably get one of these two as my next:

Oris Big Crown Pro Pilot (way under your price, about 1k)

Tudor Heritage Ranger (about 2400)

What kind of style are you looking for specifically? There are a lot of good watches to be had for $3k.

If it's me at this price range, I'm going new Omega Seamaster Pro all day long. Extremely versatile.

If you are looking modern, check out Nomos, a few different models can be had under 3k
