Looking to replace our couch with a new one or possible sectional. Don't want to break the bank, want the brand that provides the best quality for the buck. Suggestions?

High End consignment shop. Paying retail for furniture is not smart.

You get what you pay for. Remember that.

Just bought a new house. After the budget took a beating I hit up rooms to go. Interest free financing.

MSRP prices for furniture are never what you'll actually pay. I got a B&Y sofa and reclining chair listed at $3700 and $2500 for $1500 from a family friend out of his home office. He barely ever used them, so I came out like a bandit. When I was looking online, I saw them for $3000 and $1550. After looking at a bunch of stuff, living room furniture usually goes for 50-75% of the MSRP.

The cheap stuff normally lasts 2-3 years. The good stuff lasts 10-20 years. It's up to you whether you want RTG/IKEA furniture or not

Eta: To me, value means something that is higher quality and will last a long time (don't have to replace it every 5 years)

While I'm not gonna say rtg is the best by any means, it will last more than 2-3 years I promise. We bought a king size bed and night stands 6 years ago and they are perfectly fine today, and we also have a couch and love seat from rtg that we bought when we had kids (bc we new they would frick it up) and they are rough as hell on those couches going on 4 years and they are still in good shape.

I have seen different results many times. I know three people that had seams come apart on leather RTG furniture. My buddy's parents had two sofas, and where the leather was glued ripped apart on each one. My uncle bought one as a temporary sofa while he was renting a house/looking to buy one. Both of the cushions that he and his wife sat on regularly softened up ridiculously more than the other one. This was after 4 months. They gave it to me, and I couldn't deal with it, so I got a new one a couple of weeks later.

Maybe you got lucky, but I wouldn't chance it

I hear ya. Ours is the only Experience I have but ours isn't leather. I could see that being a problem.

I really like Ashley personally.

Rooms To Go sucks. Bought a $1000 leather sofa that fell apart in under 2 years.

I don't know where you live, but West Elm LINK has some attractive furniture at reasonable prices. My daughter bought a few pieces from them and they seem to be holding up well, but I am no expert on furniture. They are also having a sale right now.

Dude go to overstock.com. I got a beautiful tufted italian leather sofa that was a saddle brown color for $1500. I get a chubbie everytime I sit on it. MSRP was over $3k. Free delivery with white glove service included. Do not get a cheap quality sectional or sofa from RTG.
