I'm selling my house in BR and it is need of a thorough cleaning. My tenants apparently were pig people and their dog must have sweated a lot. The only name I've been told and have heard of is merry maids. Is merry maids a good choice or are there other options I should look at? I also plan on getting the carpets steamed. I plan on going with Stanley Steamer unless there is a cleaning company that also does that and offers a decent package rate.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Gracias

I used Merry Maids. They did a decent job but were quite expensive. A friend recommended Heidi Lescano, who I ended up using. Her team did an excellent job, even better than Merry Maids, and at a much more reasonable price. Her number is 225-485-3414.

Those cleaning services are never worth the price. They work off a per hour basis and will take their time cleaning and it will end up costing $300+. You're better off finding a "word of mouth" person like the poster mentioned above. Have them come over to explain what you want done and get a quote.

I used Naomi off Craigslist. She had the supplies, you have to come up with French Maid Outfit. Let me find her email.

well the thing is I won't be there. I took a few days off of work to come down and fix some stuff and clean up a bit to put my house on the market but someone passed yesterday and wanted to buy it. I have to go back to Dallas tomorrow and am trying to get the paper work taken care of today. I told the buyer I would get the house cleaned as it is filthy. I will have to get a friend or family member to go meet the cleaning service though

If its in NBR it will probably be burned to the ground soon anyways. Just make sure your insurance is paid and you'll be good to go.

I seriously doubt she has a website. This is a local proprietor who relies 100% on referrals. She uses a team of Mexicans.

I would highly recommend Pelican Janitorial! Their team provided my wife and I with a house cleaning not too long ago and were excellent. House was spotless after they left and the price was very affordable.

Their website: LINK
Their phone number: (225) 508-3260
