There's a big fight going on here in Pennsylvania to shake up the current way beer/wine/liquor is sold. Wine and liquor are sold in state run liquor stores, but no beer is sold there. Beer is sold at beer distributors, where the minimum quantity to purchase is typically a case. Beer can also be sold at package stores / offsale at certain bars and restaurants; however, the max quantity is 2 six packs.

No beer at grocery stores or gas stations, no beer at liquor stores. It's confusing and inefficient, and there's a push to at least do away w/ the distributorship model on beer.

Thus, you get this ad outlining how selling beer at a gas station kills children. Funded by the United Food and Comercial Workers.

"It only takes a little bit of greed to kill a child"

That's ignorant. FWIW, I live in LA now but I still buy my microbrews and local beer from the albertson's liqueur store. Once again a reason why Unions should have been abolished after labor laws were enacted.

Yes it is rediculous. I miss grabbing a few cold 16 oz on my way home from work. This state is retarded when it comes to a this. Its such a hassle to go get beer or liquor.

brought two buddies from up here to mardi gras they couldn't believe the choices we have at gas stations. One got a meat pie, 5th of crown and 6 pack every chance he had.

we have these in Virginia and I actually really like them

you dont have to go to the ghetto to get liquor. The state stores are very nice, clean, and the staff is helpful and friendly

No one should have to live any place that you can't get the booze you want from Circle K.

Yeah I live out in the country so I have to go to the meth bar to buy a case of little 10oz beers. 10$ a case though isn't bad.

We had friends from Cali visit one time, and the two things they were absolutely astonished at were drive through bars and Walmart selling alcohol.

Here in MD they don't sell beer/wine anywhere except liquor stores. Only in Ocean City can you find booze at gas stations/grocery stores.

I couldnt believe I had to get my beer from a bar when I went to Pittsburgh for a weekend. Tried a couple gas stations and then was informed you cant get it there. Found a little dive with some old timers and picked up 2 six packs, even came with a plastic bag.

Seriously how to people live like that? First time I went to a part of the country that was like that I felt like I was in a foreign country.

In 89 or 90 I was driving through Penn and stopped to get a six pack at a C store, no beer and the pointed across the street to the local bar. I had to buy six individual beers at the bar. Has that changed?
