i'll try and be short here

got a call this morning from a 1-877 #, i dont answer numbers i dont know, so i let it go to voicemail. the voicemail was automated and left in spanish, i dont know what it said. The number calls immediately again.

so I call the number back, and its this company(name: Secure services) that outsources phone calls from prisons. The operator is able to tell me i am getting calls from Jefferson parish lock up in Gretna, but she cannot tell me who is trying to call me.

I contact my good friends in case they had a drunken night, as well as family. Everyone is accounted for that I would actually bail out of jail.

Anyway, I was just lighting my bbq pit and missed another call from the number. I tried call JPSO and have a hard time getting someone on the line. In the event that I can get someone on the line, can they tell me who is trying to call me? Like, do they log that stuff?

There might be a log but if they've called several times there's probably a phone in the holding cell they can use whenever they want

I have no idea, but there was some type of scam that involved getting calls from jail.

This happened to me once and I paid the 5 dollars or whatever to answer because I thought it was one of my friends that needed help. Answered and its somebody that I had never heard of and they had the wrong number apparently. I was pissed I wasted 5 dollars but then thought how bad it would suck to be in jail and waste you phone call on a wrong number.

Saturdays are usually visitation day, so an inmate was probably calling a number he thought was a relative.

They'll call randoms asking you to enable three way calling so they can call the person they're not supposed to talk to.

ETA: Maybe one person in a thousand is stupid enough to do that, but they'll sit there all day and dial, they have nothing else to do.

The message was in Spanish?

All signs point to Owlie and JPSO doing work if they actually got him.
