Baton Rouge Traffic

Been a long time since I lived in BR and could use some advice about traffic patterns.
We are looking to possibly move back to BR soon and I am considering where to live.
I would be working near the Baton Rouge country club. How would the commute be from the Country Club of Louisiana area?
Looks like I could take Perkins, I-10 or Airline to get there and back.
I hear Perkins and I-10 are terrible. Don't know what Airline would be like.
Thanks for any replies.

Subtle brag
Sorry I couldn't resist I don't even know if this is a nice area

Wouldnt be bad in the morning if you avoid essen by OLOL and Bluebonnet. But getting home in the evening would be tough

It's all terrible. Live in AP off 73 exit. For where you're working that's your best option.

The commute from CCL to BRCC would suck. check out areas like Bocage and your commute would be 10 minutes or less

Would hit a little traffic going up Essen to the interstate but I rarely have any issues with traffic and live in the same area you are referring to

Forgive my ignorance, what's AP?

Ascension Parish. That area is Gonzales.
I forgot about Bocage though. That's not a bad spot commute wise. Don't know about the schools there. Unless you're going private.

And, I know Bocage would be ideal, but for the size house we need, the price per square is a little more than we want to put in a house at this time, especially before I've spent long enough in the new job to know it will work out.

I-10 East is clear in the mornings but jammed in the afternoons
I-10 West is jammed in the morning but usually clear in the afternoon...unless some jack arse got into an accident on the bridge.

Woodlake or Lakewood subdivisions off Bluebonnet would be pretty easy, depending on your work hours. What is budget for said house?

Haven't decided how much exactly we will spend to be honest.
We are hoping for a 5 BR though, and there aren't many choices on Zillow that are near where I would work unless you are willing to go above 800K. Just looking for alternatives with lower price per square and reasonable commute.

Well, thanks for the replies (and downvote?). I have a little more info now.

What's your budget?
In general. 200k? 300k?

Newer parts of Oak Hills might get you a five bedroom.

I live in Pville and work next to BRCC I'm At work by 7 and takes me about 15 min most mornings. I get on I10 at Highland and get off at Essen. Zero traffic issues at that time, usually. My commute home take a bit longer tho at 4:30. Take the split to i10 and get off at Highland which usually backs up quite a bit. Takes about 10 min to get thru. But if you going to CCL it won't be as bad since you can merge right. Compared to most, it's not a bad commute as it all depends on the times you work.
Good luck

There are plenty of other options including Tara and Old Goodwood that would be equally convenient to BRCC but at a more moderate price point. Look under Area 6 in the real estate listings.
