Have some friends who may be moving to Baton Rouge. They toured a number of neighborhoods and think Willow Grove seemed to be the nicest. He's a doc and will be working in that general area.

I assume he will be working at the General. Not a bad neighborhood but they have no yards. If he could stand the extra 10-15min drive then I'd tell him to go look in the UClub or Lexington Estates.

It's great if you like zero lot lines and neighbors right on top of you.
ETA: and I'm certain the HOA restrictions are severe.

It's a good one. The shite in the front is finally coming together like it was proposed(TND with retail and services within walking distance). Bistro Byronz and some shopping shite.
You can also walk/ride your bike through the back to the mall and access the path that will go all along Wards Creek(for now it's just a mile or so from Siegen to Bluebonnet).

They did have a murder there couple years ago. But just a doctor who killer her mama then committed suicide. NBD.
The zero lot lines are not an inconvenience there like in some neighborhoods. It's by design and very cool IMO.

They hated UClub. Too far out. They're moving from a more urban area in the NE and kind of want to replicate that.

Well depending on where they are moving from via the NE (Boston, NYC, etc) I doubt we have anything like that here in BR. But if they don't have kids or anything like that then willow grove is a nice option. It is close to a lot.
I know there has been some controversy over this development and I am not sure how its coming along but this was supposed to be pretty nice as well. LINK /

Just moved into Westminster Pine Park and absolutely love it. Awesome neighborhood and right in the middle of EVERYTHING. Community pool and tennis courts, sidewalks, etc. Very old and established neighborhood. Since he's a Dr., he'd probably be more interested in the homes on the Pine Park side. My wife is a nurse at the General and it takes her 5 minutes to get to work.

Parents just finished building about 8 months ago... I love the neighborhood honestly.
Get a golf cart for the kids, they have a lake, and community pool etc
I actually have people over in the summer to come swim in their pool when they are out of town! Its pretty private even though it seems like everyone is on top of you. However they are a corner lot

If they're okay with zero lot lines, I'd tell them to look at one of the infill projects going on around Goodwood/MidCity.
e.g. E'tage Gardens

Isnt there a railroad track and a creek that seperate this from the mall and the other development? I've ridden on the path by the mall, but hadnt heard about anything on the south side of the creek.
Edit: Holy shite, google maps shows a dirt trail and a bridge. I had no idea. Is that a private road?
Also OP, the ballin doctor can send his 3 kids to Dunham, which is pretty much next door.

It better for the price tag they are getting. Most expensive PPSQ in the area.

The kids are going to an Episcopalian school. Not sure which one.

Mid city. Old goodwood. Westdale. Webb park. Why would someone with a little money want to live in one of those stupid cookie cutter new construction neighborhoods? Buy something with some character.

St James or Episcopal? The traffic to each of those is going to be a nightmare coming from Willow Grove.
If St James, living in the Old Goodwood area would be good for them. Or even Webb Park.
