Just fricking sucks, in a few weeks we'll all be pretty much back to business as usual and move on from this. But not them, some cowardly piece of shite robbed them of a loved one for absolutely no reason.

Guess I'll post in this thread too, but this is the OLOL hallway waiting on wounded officer to be discharged...

I'm not sure what changes can be made to prevent something like this from happening. Seems like everything was done as good as possible by the PD. You just can't predict craziness

The caskets just passed me on I-10 just before the bridge coming into BR.
Pretty impressive escort.

anyone else hearing they are announcing the investigation results of the sterling shooting tomorrow?
I've been hearing this since Monday.
THIS IS NOT TRUE. Please stop circulating the rumor, it just gets peoples hopes up. DoJ will release their findings in their own sweet time. FYI, last Sat was two years since they started the Freddy Gray investigation. They are still sitting on that one.

That poor deputy will likely have demons for the rest of his life after watching his buddies die. I'm absolutely thrilled he survived but that's not something easy to mentally bounce back from.

is there any new news on Nick? I haven't been able to keep up this week and there are too many pages to read

I can't find anything ... I'm so wondering and still praying.

Not a whole lot of news
Someone posted he squeezed his wife's hand.
The story I saw was from the Daily News so I am not sure that I trust it.
IIRC the last "official" news was he was "very, very critical"

Again? It was reported that he squeezed his mother's hand ... hoping that this was a second squeeze.

Interstate shut down. Sitting in traffic for an hour Plus! Solid hour of flashing parade of flashing lights. Front row seats for it. First funeral of officers killed.
Post pic when I get home! Rest in peace.
On the way home from Ochsner in New Orleans when two cops pulled off the side of the interstate ahead of me and got side by side and were traveling at 25 mph. I was thinking "what the heck are they doing?"
When we got to the overpass at Blue Bayou they blocked the traffic and I am stuck behind them not knowing what is going on but we can see more flashing lights and streets blocked below us.
Then we hear on the radio that one of the officers funerals was today and we could see people on the side of the road with a big American Flag. That is when we knew what was up.
We sat for a few minutes with nothing happening and then the procession started. I didn't realize there were so many cop cars in the state. First it was the motorcycles and then everything else. For over an hour the cars with lights flashing drove up onto the interstate in front of us.
Rest in Peace!
After a half hour of all manner of police car streaming by we turned on the radio to hear about the shooting in Germany. The world is truly going to crap!

I think this is a rumor. I hate to say that, but again, the only official news I can find is he is in very, very critical condition.
