Bat Removal...Does anyone have any experience with this?

I have a two story house in the New Orleans metro area, and we recently viewed some bats coming from our roof line at dusk. A specialist came to the house, and he gave me a price of $2,000 to remove the bats, and he guarantees his work. Does this price seem in line with anyone who has needed this service in the past?

They eat mosquitoes, so they're considered beneficial and illegal to kill. I was told a $10k fine PER BAT killed.
All they will do is put up a net around the opening the bats use so that they can get out but not back in. Then the next morning the seal up the hole with that STUFF stuff or whatever it is. Expanding foam.
Guy in BR did it for us for $250 a few years ago. If I'd known his tactics, I'd have done it myself.
But we only had one entry point, only about 1" deep (those lil frickers can really flatten out) x 4" wide.
ETA: A few bats got sealed up in the eaves, so I guess there's a few grand worth of fines at that house.

What you need is a rat stick. Should work for bats too.

We have three entry points right now, but the entire house needs to be sealed because there are at least 20 spots that are identical.

I had a bat in the house once and threw a towel on it like a net when it landed on the floor, took it outside and let it go, it really wasn't that bad.

I do. One day I noticed some squeaking coming form outside the top part of my chimney. Sprayed a hose up there and it was like a scene out of Batman Begins. They're good for killing mosquitos but having their droppings lay around is supposedly not very good.
Got a animal service to come over and they had to set a trap that would allow the bats to leave the chimney but prevent them from going back in. They also had to seal other parts of my roof where bats could potentially enter. They can supposedly squeeze through a hole the size of a quarter.
Final cost was around $500 or so.

Same with our situation. I didn't spray water, but at dusk when they came out, it was like one of those little clown cars when the frickers just won't stop exiting!
I'm old so I thought it was the like opening of Scooby Doo.

Price is high.. I paid 450 for the guy to remove and seal the areas they were getting in with a guarentee.. He has had to come back and get rid of more recently as once they leave the scent in your house, they will try to get back in.

And it is godawful. Thankfully our infestation was in a workshop on the other side of a carport, so no shared attic with the rest of the house.

$2000 is ridiculous. I think we paid $600 and the guy came several times to my house and one time it was at 11:00 at night. He finally figured out where they were coming from. At least we didn't have hundreds of bats in the attic!
