I'm booking a bachelor party on South Padre. The island is long so I want to make sure we stay in the middle of things. Where should I stay? There's 7 of us going and the ages are 21-24. Any recommendations are also welcome

If everyone really has a good time you won't need your own place.

There isn't much going on there during non spring break times. Beach is gross with black sand. Any particular reason you chose SPI?

It was between there and gulf shores is the only reason. Only so much fun to be had in Alabama.

Be safe...a slew of people (men and women) your age have been turning up dead down there close to the border.

Because the person we are throwing it for said he wants to do it at a beach city writhing driving distance. Seemed different but I must be wrong.

SPI is nasty. I lived there for a year. Everything is old and crusty. You might be able to find a decent Airbnb but I don't know. Would much rather go to Pensacola, destin, gulf shores... Really anywhere but SPI

I don't know if things have changed, but a lot of the bars down there are only open for the month or so of spring break and then they close the rest of the year. How far are you from Destin or Pensacola? Both would be better options.

It's kind of a shite hole. I went to a BP in the middle of college spring break several years ago, there was surprisingly few bars and restaurants.

Why do people say SPI is nasty? It's the nicest beach and water on the Gulf Coast outside of Florida.

It's not as bad as people here make it sound. Try and stay at the Radisson or sangria

People are completely nasty and leave trash everywhere, there is seaweed everywhere and the water is murky. Gulf shores is way better.

And it becomes essentially a ghost town/ retirement community outside of spring break.
