Kinda hits me in the feels just a little. My wife and I were pretty sensitive to this when it happened because it was right here in Jacksonville just 9 days after our own first child, also a girl, was born here.

Crazy story.

Hmm. My bad. Searched with a few different key words and skimmed first two pages and didn't see it. Been on the go and just found out.

Downvote away.

Yep saw it all over the local news while I was at work today. Heard they are seeking life behind bars for the woman that stole here. To me if the girl turned out Ok mentally and physically the sentence is way too stiff. IMHO I think the kidnapper should definitely do time but if the girl was not abused I think the real family should just be thankful she is alive. Not saying the crime was right but the girl is alive.

Yeah I'm sure the baby's family was fine after 2 weeks of searching...

At this time, police said Kamiyah plans on staying in South Carolina. They do not know if she plans to reconnect with her biological family any time soon

After 18 years, If I was her parents, I would be crushed again with this news.

"Wanna meet your real family?"

"Naaah, I'm good."

The thing she doesn't need now is a bunch of media in her face. I am sure she has a support network around her and is being offered counseling.

She will change her mind within a month.

Apparently the kidnapper had a miscarriage about a week before she drove down to Jacksonville and stole the baby. She forged some documents and raised her as her own.

She later had two other children which LE has confirmed are actually hers. They were all raised as siblings.

What i put in other thread about this.

quote:

There was an old Hospital in St.Louis, where people believe they were kidnapped as infants, and given to other families. Mostly black children, given to other black families. The mothers of infants were told their newborns died. Almost all of the info about it, has been destroyed or the people who ran the Hospital and know what went on are dead.

Imagine being the mother, told ur infant died, only to find out, by them contacting you, that they are alive, and have been for 30+ years.
