I-10 East is closed at the MS River bridge because an 18-wheeler caught on fire. I noticed on the traffic map that westbound was backing up from the bridge, so I'm guessing this latest wreck was probably due to that traffic & someone not paying attention that traffic was slowing down.

ETA: Actually, cameras aren't showing too much traffic near Acadian, so maybe I was wrong.

This is the dumbest most fricked up place I've ever lived. Airline is jambed in both directions as is I10. The place is stuck on full retard mode almost every day.

If you pack up now you will find the roads leading out will be clear around midnight ... usually.

What is it with automobiles arbitrarily catching fire lately?

Honestly, I don't even blame the accidents anymore. It's the Baton Rouge born morons who are incapable of driving during any sort of hazard.

Oh it's raining? Let me drive 40 mph in the left lane to be safe.

Oh there's an incline on the interstate where 10 & 12 merge? Let me slam on my breaks because I'm f*cking retarded.

An accident in Nola? shite, I had better slow down to 20 below the speed limit in BR just to be safe...

this is my favorite. New MRB westbound is the poster child for this. Day or night, drivers feel compelled to hit the brakes just as they crest the top o the bridge. WTF! Just maintain your speed and keep going.

This x 1000. Last time it rained I was at a dead stop on 12E for about 5 minutes... no accidents, just rain.

Thank you!

Every day when I drive home on I-10 westbound, I pass the Essen exit and as I'm about to pass the Hammond exit to I-12, it comes to a near dead stop...get to the crest of the incline, everyone accelerates back to normal speed. Dumbest thing I've ever seen.

That and turning onto college (from I-10 W), and people stopping completely to merge even though the lane clearly continues to the light. Not to mention both lanes turn right, yet you still have people breaking with their blinkers on to get over to the far right.

Everyone born in Baton Rouge, raise your hand. Now, slap yourself in the face. HARD.

LEARN TO frickING DRIVE, YOU IDIOTS!

Those of us who ended up here due to the vagaries of a capricious universe would appreciate it.
