Got a call from the wife today and was told she had to get car towed (I am out of town). Said car starts but when she puts it in drive and tries to accelerated, it kills. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Unfortunately she towed it to a dealership.

Make model ?

The dealership is the only place I'll take my car for a repair I can't do myself. They know the car inside and out.

There's a lot of things this could be... 1st suspect is fuel pump or fuel filter. It could also be a sensor

Without the ability to measure the PSI on the rail its hard to diagnose. I assume she didn't have a code reader or even notice if a check engine light came on.

Could be a number of things, but the First things I would check:

Vacuum leak
TCC solenoid
Fuel filter
Fuel pump

Check the positive cable at the battery. Chevy has been having some problems with positive terminal at the battery falling apart due to corrosion, on some models.
