Anyone know of places in BR that you can supply your own parts and they install them?

Also have dual a/c in car . One side not blowing cold air other side ice cold? Any ideas why?

So what part did you plan on providing if you do not know what the problem is?

Sorry different car. I can buy brakes, brake sensors, and rotors for a third of what lots of mechanics want to charge. Also looking at shocks and coil springs for another car.

Temp door actuator is most likely the problem. Cost? Depends on the vehicle and what actuator is bad. Some are very costly when it comes to Labor. A repair that you should allow the dealer to do. Your whole dash may have to come out.

Yeah, all shops (independent shops) buy their parts just like "do it yourselfers" at Auto Zone , OReillys, etc. and then mark up the price. Problem is the discount they "think" they're getting from these retails places(who tell them they're a "commercial" account" and will get "jobber" pricing" when they're not really paying much less then the "do it yourselfers". The theory to most idiot shop owners of marking up parts (sometimes up to 60%) is to try to too offset the labor cost going to the technician that's doing the repair. You may pay a little more (because you'll have OEM parts being installed by technicians that have the engineers that build the fricking vehicles on speed dial if need be) but you're shite will be done right and for the most part the first visit. I would say, in the 8 years I was a service manager at a car dealership, that 90% percent of the the cars that were brought in for repair could have been diagnosed by the service writer just by asking (What's going on with the vehicle?" and getting the "customer complaint" for the technician. Dealerships know your brand of car (If you have a BMW don't take it to a Benz dealership) better than any independent shop does. Because they have their own software that tracks problems , repairs , and fixes to assist the technician with the repair and , of course, to find ways to get the "book time" lowered for the repair , in turn saving money in payroll.

TL/Dr: I think a lot of people would use car dealerships for their repairs if they knew why th dealer is bestplace to repair your car. The problem is the stigma dealerships sleaze bag salesman ruin the whole dealerships reputation. Don't buy from a dealership. Get your car repaired by a dealership 100% of the time.

Complete and utter bullshite.

Most "technicians" at stealerships are nothing but parts changers. They start changing parts based on what the service manual tells them until they hopefully get it fixed and stick the customers with a huge fricking bill.

The lazy arse "technicians" at Infiniti of Lafayette wanted to charge me $805 to change a part that wasn't broken. Then they would have most likely changed out a module for another $800 and said "they fixed it".

I fixed the vehicle by taking out the part they said was bad (electric liftgate actuator) and testing it with a 9 volt battery. I then unplugged the module and plugged it back in and it reset itself.

In summation, they're fricking incompetent crooks.
