quote:

A New York woman is suing her 12-year-old nephew who accidentally broke her wrist while greeting her to his eighth birthday party.

Jennifer Connell is seeking $127,000 from Sean Tarala of Westport, Connecticut after the youngster jumped into her arms while greeting her to his birthday party on March 18, 2011.

Connell described her nephew in court as 'very loving' and 'sensitive' towards her, but the 54-year-old human resources manager told Judge Edward Stodolink that the youngster should be held accountable for his behaviour.

quote:

She said: 'I live in Manhattan in a third-floor walk-up so it has been very difficult. And we all know how crowded it is in Manhattan. I was at a party recently, and it was difficult to hold my hors d’oeuvre plate.'

According to court documents: 'The injuries, losses and harms to the plaintiff were caused by the negligence and carelessness of the minor defendant in that a reasonable eight years old under those circumstances would know or should have known that a forceful greeting such as the one delivered by the defendant to the plaintiff could cause the harms and losses suffered by the plaintiff.'

What a huge fricking count. His mother died last year and now his Aunt sues him for something that happened 4 years ago. What the frick is this world coming to?

Aunt Jennifer would not be getting a Christmas card this year.

What kind of attorney takes that case. I mean, don't you have the right to say, whoa, I'll do anything for a buck lady, but this exceeds my piece-of-shift threshold.

Aunt sounds pretty mad that she didn't get any money when the mom died.

For this to have reached a trial setting and not thrown out for passing statute of limitations, it looks like the suit would have been filed right around the time the kid's mother died.

This almost doesn't seem real...almost like an Onion article.

But surely (fricking surely) any judge/court would throw this shite in the trash. If this bitch wins anything at all from her nephew, the justice system would take a huge hit for me.
